Vegetarian nutrition is validated in schools and kindergartens

We receive a response from the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsman stating: "Order No. B1-610 of 22 June 2015 of the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service" On Approval of the Description of the Procedure for the Coordination of the Menu of Children's Educational Institutions, Children's Social Welfare Institutions and Children's Holiday Camps ". Point 40 of the Description states that the recommended dietary levels of energy and nutrients for children should be taken into account when setting up children's meals. The description ensures that certain foods can be replaced by others (vegetarian menus may also be submitted to the State Food and Veterinary Service or its units for general approval). How the Ministry was informed by telephone by the Ministry of Health, 2016 April 8 During the meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on the Development of Children's Catering Services and Social Care Institutions, the issue of the organization of vegetarian catering was discussed among other topical issues related to the organization of child nutrition. One of the suggestions made by the working group to improve children's nutrition is to develop recommendations for the organization of vegetarian meals. No specific timeframe has been set for the preparation of these recommendations; July to August.

During the meeting with the Minister of Health Aurelius Veryga we discussed the strategy of implementing a vegetarian menu in the public sector. Recommendations for the vegetarian menu already exist in all establishments. Require a vegetarian menu in kindergartens, schools, care homes, hospitals, the military, prisons.
